On the 11th of May, 2025, Yi YUVA REC conducted "Route Cause", an awareness rally uniting citizens to speak up against underage driving. At Edward Elliot's Beach, the event began with a welcome address that set the tone for promoting responsibility on the roads. The rally was flagged off near Murugan Idli Shop, where participants gathered in determination. Walking in silence, their presence echoed volumes as they moved forward, drawing the attention of locals. Members held placards bearing impactful messages, reminding that lives are shaped by the choices made behind the wheel. The sincerity of the cause turned heads, reinforcing the urgency of discouraging underage driving. At the final stop, participants took a pledge to uphold road safety and be vigilant about age-appropriate driving. Mr. Tobin Jose, the Chair of Yuva at Young Indians, Chennai Chapter, graced the occasion and was felicitated, before the vote of thanks. Pledge walls were signed with quotes, commitments and reflections, as the local police joined in support. Reflective safety stickers were distributed, a powerful reminder of the visibility and vigilance the roads demand. As the event concluded, conversations were shared, reflecting on the rally's purpose and urged one another to carry the message beyond the day's walk. Long after the final steps were taken, the essence of "Route Cause" remains etched in signatures, shared stories and the pledge to protect future drivers.
